EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ. -- The Baltimore Ravens lead the New York Jets, 7-6, at halftime on "Monday's Night Football."

Here are some notes and observations:

* The Ravens are fortunate to be leading, because it's been a football jerseys
sloppy game so far. Baltimore's execution isn't sharp on offense and quarterback Joe Flacco has two turnovers (one fumble, one interception) in the first half. Still, penalties by New York kept Baltimore's offense on the field enough to score a touchdown before halftime.
* There have not been many rushing lanes for Baltimore's offense. Pro Bowl tailback Ray Rice has just 19 rushing yards in the first half. New York is playing very disciplined defense along the front seven and holding its ground. Baltimore's best shot to move the ball could Dallas Cowboys jersey
be spread out the Jets in the second half.
* One of the few offensive players making an impact for Baltimore is new receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh. He has one big catch for 27 yards on third down. But he's also drawn three penalties against Jets cornerbacks, which resulted in first downs and are just as good as receptions. A pass interference by Jets rookie cornerback Kyle Wilson helped set up Willis McGahee's touchdown run for the Ravens.
* Baltimore offensive lineman Marshal Yanda was moved from right guard to right tackle and he struggled in the first half. Yanda didn't win many battles in the trenches and was beat on the right corner during a big sack and fumble by quarterback Joe Flacco Indianapolis Colts jersey
in the first quarter. Jared Gaither is the projected starter but has been out with a back injury.
